New Delhi, India - His Holiness the Dalai Lama left Dharamsala for Delhi this morning to attend the Global Buddhist Summit 2023. Despite the early morning darkness and rain, hundreds of Tibetans lined the road to see him off.
On arrival in Delhi airline and airport staff were eager to catch a glimpse of His Holiness as he left the plane. Then for approximately one kilometre from the airport gate thousands of well-wishers, primarily Tibetans, Ladakhis and Kinnauris, lined both sides of the road. Many of them carried flowers and silk scarves to welcome His Holiness and their joy at seeing him was reflected in their smiling faces.
