Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP, India - In a letter to the Indonesian President, H.E. Joko Widodo, His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed his deep sadness at the tragic loss of life, devastation of property and consequent hardship faced by so many people as a result of the earthquake and tsunami that recently struck the island of Sulawesi.
“I offer my condolences through your Excellency to families who have lost loved ones,” he wrote, “while also expressing my sympathies to the injured.
“I understand that everything that can be done is being done to care for the injured and that rescue and relief efforts are well underway. As a token of my concern, I am making a donation from the Dalai Lama Trust towards relief efforts.”
