His Holiness will be in Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh state of India, from 6 to 11 February. On 7 and 8 February, His Holiness will have a dialogue with Buddhists and other Indian philosophical schools and attend a seminar on the philosophy of the four buddhist traditions in Tibet.
On 8 February, His Holiness is expected to give a talk to the students and staff of the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, a deemed university in Varanasi. |

After his arrival in Bodh Gaya on 12 February, His Holiness will attend and address the inaugural ceremony of a week-long celebrations of the 2550th death anniversary of the Buddha being organised by the Mahabodhi Society of India, Bodh Gaya. The Mahabodhi Society on India organised the 2500th death anniversary of the Budha in 1956 that was also attended by His Holiness and the late 10th Panchen Lama.
Many dignitaries from the state, central government and from abroad are also expected to attend the inaugural ceremony.
