APPEAL
I am deeply saddened to learn about the recent disturbances in Ladakh between the Buddhist and Muslim communities. The outbreak of violence is very unfortunate and I urgently appeal for all people in Ladakh to restrain themselves from engaging in any violent actions. As a Buddhist practitioner and determined advocate of non-violence, I firmly believe that violence cannot solve any problem. Violence only leads to more violence. Religious believers from both communities should understand that the religious sentiments of their communities can be misused by anti-communal forces against each other. I once again strongly appeal for peace in Ladakh.
