H.H. the Dalai Lama to Inaugurate National Seminar

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will inaugurate a national seminar on
Strategies for the Development of Himachal Pradesh on 2 June at the
Club House, McLeod Ganj.
Organised by Divya Himachal, the first vernacular newspaper of the
state, the seminar will be attended by the state’s Chief Minister,
ministers for Power, Tourism, Industry and Forest, secretaries and
other senior officials from the central and state governments,
businessmen and management experts.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will also address the inaugural function.
On the occasion, noted Indian actor Anupam Kher, who hails from
the state, will be honoured with the Divya Himachal Award for
Excellence for the year 2005.
The seminar will analyze the prevailing realities and climate of
development in the state and discuss issues like optimising hydel power
generation, innovative rural, religious and eco friendly tourism,
employment, information technology and most importantly local interests
and participation.
According to the organisers, the seminar is a non-political
endeavor to deliberate on the issues in a professional approach. " It
will focus on the development as secular issue to garner all our
support."
